ALASKA OIL PAINTINGS by Alaskan artist/author Doug C. Myers. Each detailed painting illustrates with oils on canvas Alaska's scenic treasure, historic Native culture, and wildlife display. Several of Myers' paintings are included in his book PURSUING THE UNTAMED.

The ALASKA CACHE NEWSLETTER presents current issues of concern while highlighting information about areas of Alaska discussed in PURSUING THE UNTAMED. A section of soulful snippets by the author, 'Doug's Dugout', fishing and seasonal event reports, and Anchorage weather are also included. Each seasonal edition is a continuing presentation with additions and modifications.

_Owner/operator Van Hartley provides bush commuter flights throughout the remote Bristol Bay Region. Flights begin at the King Salmon outpost in Southwest Alaska. Sport fishing lodges, fish camps, hunting lodges/camps, and float/photography expeditions use the popular air service. Branch River Air Service (including photo) and 'River Wildlife Potpourri' of PURSUING THE UNTAMED is referenced in chapters 'Katmai's Other Eruption'.

_Owner/outfitter Jim Hodge provides guided wilderness excursions near Dillingham in the Bristol Bay Region for fishing, hunting, float trips, and photography. The remote fish camp is located on the Nushagak River a short distance from its mouth. HODGE'S OUTFITTERS has been guiding fishermen and hunters since 1985, and uses Branch River Air Service for access to the remote fish camp.

_Tom and Tammy Baumgartner operate a first class lodge on the edge of the Naknek River near King Salmon and the Katmai National Preserve in the Bristol Bay Region. RAINBOW BEND LODGES boats clients upriver from King Salmon to the remote location.

_Musher Lynda Plettner of PLETTNER-KENNELS provides training for sled dogs and mushers, care of retired sled dogs, and serves as a popular tour destination during summer months. Lynda has been a consistent Iditarod finisher, and was the recipient of the prestigious Iditarod humanitarian award for exceptional care of her racing team, 2002. She has starred in the movie Sled Dogs: An Alaskan Epic, and appeared in a special television presentation on Secrets of Alaska's National Parks. Lynda is highlighted in chapter 'Dogged Determination' of PURSUING THE UNTAMED.

-Riversong Lodge is located at Lake Creek, a famous Alaska fishing river offering all five species of salmon as well as rainbow trout, arctic grayling and northern pike. The lodge is 70 air miles northwest of Anchorage on the southern bank of the Yentna River at the confluence of Lake Creek. It is accessible by floatplane only. Owners: Randy & Robin Dewar
